Honda Accord Crosstour coming to China in Oct

Shanghai September 8 (Gasgoo.com) Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile and Honda Motor, will launch the Honda Accord Crosstour to the Chinese market in October, and expects to sell 10,000 units by the end of the year, Beijing Youth Daily reported Wednesday.

The Honda Accord Crosstour features a 280hp 3.5L V6 engine with variable cylinder management (VCM) technology and has a fuel consumption of 10.3 liters 100 km.

Helped by the Honda Accord, Guangzhou Honda has achieved extraordinary success in sales in the segment, but it would still be a challenge for the company to reach the 10000-unit sales target, some industry insiders said. The high-end crossover is likely to be sold around 350,000 yuan ($51,500).

Guangzhou Honda will also import the Honda CR-Z and Insight to China to enrich its product line-up before 2012.

At present, there are three Honda Accord versions available in the country: the 3.5L, 2.4L and 2.0L. The latter two are key models in the competitive market.
