Chery Auto gets a new brand for new energy vehicles
Shanghai September 8 (Gasgoo.com) Chery Auto, China's largest homegrown carmaker, is planning to launch the new brand Chevoo (Qi Nuo in Chinese) that will represent its new energy vehicles, Pacific automotive network reported on Wednesday.
Chery has already launched four brands, including the Chery, the Riich, the Rely and the Karry before the Shanghai Auto Show 2009, following its multiple brand strategy that are different brands for different segments, but all under a single umbrella- "Chery".
The Chery brand, now used to showcase Chery's mid- and low-end passenger vehicles, contains the previous Easter, A1、A3、A5, QQ3、QQ6、QQme, Feng Yun 2 and other models.
The Riich brand has become Chery's luxury line up that contains products such as the Riich M1, X1 and G5, and meanwhile is the main force of the company's overseas expansion.
The Reely brand will house the MPV, SUV and light bus line that includes the Reely V5, H5, X5 and so on.
The Karry brand has become the workhorse brand and sells cheap, economical vans and trucks for rural buyers, and products carrying the badge are Karry You Pai, You Sheng, You You, etc..
