Revamped Hyundai i10 to be launched in India this month

Hyundai India, is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of its flagship i10 compact car this month charged many fresh gaudy lineaments. The recent launch of rival cars such as Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and Nissan Micra have stirred the competition and hence both Maruti and Hyundai are surprising customers with facelifts.

Hyundai's i10, which is the top selling car in the Korean stable, selling over 11,000 cars every month, will now get new looks and will attract more buyers too. The new Hyundai i10 has a new 1.2 litre (variable valve timing) VTVT engine that has been tweaked to deliver higher power and improved fuel efficiency, keeping in view the over 18 km/lt fuel efficiency, which is an important factor for a customer's purchase decision.

The new car has been face lifted with front contrive adopted from the new Avante sedan while the rear excogitation has been slightly curved. It boasts a bracing set of headlamps and tail lights with blinkers on ORVMs, body coloured door handles and casting. The bumpers have been redesigned with a newfangled front grille and adjustable head rests added to the new car. Likewise, Hyundai has adjudicated to compeer the i10 with extra new age rivalry cars by bestriding music control upon the steering wheel as well as appending Bluetooth connectivity in the cabin. The new Hyundai i10 would replace the existing 1.2 litre Kappa engine. Hyundai had launched i10 in October 2007.

Hyundai had sold 7,19,068 i10's yet with 3.61 lakh sold in the domestic market, while 3.58 lakh were shipped to different overseas markets. With 60,898 units sold in the first five months of the financial year in India, it falls behind Maruti Alto, Maruti WagonR, Maruti Swift in sales. The refurbished i10 is gestated to fetch roughly incremental hits to Hyundai which has not launched any new cars in the recent past.

Its sales expanded 21% to 1.4 lakh cars in the first five months of the current fiscal still the total passenger car segment rose to 34% to 7.53 lakh cars in the same period of time. Expect the new i10's launch in the next couple of weeks.
