Mahindra to launch Reva electric car in China next year
Mahindra & Mahindra, the India’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer is planning to launch the electric car Reva in the Chinese market by next year. M&M bought 55% stake in Bangalore based Reva Electric Car manufacturing company earlier this year. Reva is also the world’s largest electric car manufacturer as of now.
Due to the sudden rise in demand for environmental friendly cars in China, Mahindra believes launching Reva in China by next year will be immensely profitable venture. Mr Pawan Goenka who handles Mahindra Reva Electric Company said, “China is one of the largest auto market and given the huge demand for eco-friendly vehicles it could generate in future, we would like to take our new cars into that market.”
Analysts have predicted that a total 5 million electric cars will be sold in China alone by the year 2020 which makes China an attractive market for EV manufacturers. Mr Chetan Maini, the brain behind Reva said, “The recent change in technologies would help us to cater to the wider need of global markets.”
