Sales of Dongfeng commercial vehicles up over 70% in Jan-Oct

Shanghai November 16 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Motor Group's commercial vehicle division, Dongfeng Motor Commercial Vehicle Co. sold 258,800 vehicles in the first ten months this year, of which medium- and heavy-duty trucks accounted for 213,500 units, a growth of over 70% from a year earlier, Xinhua reported Tuesday, according to the company's financial statement.

Year to date, sales of Dongfeng Tianlong heavy-duty trucks and Tianjin medium-duty trucks have been continuously growing, especially those equipped with Dongfeng's independently-developed DCI11 and 4H engines, which contributed more than 80% of the subsidiary's total sales. Supplies of the two trucks have been falling short of demand in the domestic market. 
 
The company expects to export more than 6,500 commercial vehicles in 2010, a year-on-year increase of more than 200%.
