BMW China sales hit another record high in Jan-Nov 2010
Shanghai December 14 (Gasgoo.com) BMW China said yesterday sales in the first eleven months hit another record high reaching 152,866 units, of which deliveries of the Mini model surged 140% year on year to 9,170 units, bitauto.com reported.
The Mini brand sold more than 100,000 units in the first eight months this year worldwide, beating its full-year sales target for more than 120,000 units in only nine months.
The BMW brand also had a great performance, seeing its overall sales in the January to November period jump 87.6% from a year earlier to 143,696 units.
BMW AG, the world's largest maker of luxury cars, has further bolstered its leading position in many market segments. Sales of the domestically-made BMW 5 Series exceeded 36,000 units in the first eleven months; deliveries of the BMW 5 Series long-wheelbase version launched in August, had even topped 5,000 units in November.
Last month, the German automaker delivered 16,300 BMW and Mini vehicles to customers in the Greater China region, covering mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macau and Taiwan, where it delivered 165,089 units of the same models in the first eleven months, an increase of nearly 90% compared to the same period last year.
