Volvo XC60 cars recalled in China over seat stopper defect
Shanghai January 4 (Gasgoo.com) Volvo has started today to recall the Volvo XC60 cars in China over a chair stopper defect, according to a statement posted on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
The recall affects the XC60 cars, totaling 135 units, produced between February 4, 2009 and October 25, 2010.
Improper installation of the stopper can cause the front electric chair to move beyond its expected limit, which may not properly protect the occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injuries, Volvo Car Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. said in the report submitted to the AQSIQ.
Volvo dealers will offer a free inspection of the front electric chair stoppers to owners involved, or repair the stoppers if necessary, to avoid potential risks.
For more information, owners can call the company on a hotline at 400-378-1200, or call the AQSIQ by dialing 010-59796616/65537365, or visit AQSIQ's website at www.dpac.gov.cn.
