Volvo China appoints Richard Snijders as new CEO

Shanghai January 10 (Gasgoo.com) Volvo Cars China has on Jan.5 appointed Richard Snijders as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Volvo Car Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.. The former CEO Alexander Klose will return to Ford, Chinanews.com reports.

After many years of work in the Global Marketing department of Volvo Car Corporation, and with additional time spent in Volvo operations in the U.S., Sweden, Australia, Britain and Germany, Richard Snijders has gained much experience in the field. Before taking up this new position, he served as CEO and President of Volvo Car Sales (Japan) Co., Ltd., Chinanews.com said.

To enhance its management and get well prepared for development in the next five years in the world's largest auto market, Volvo Cars China also made a personnel adjustment last December, when Shen Hui was named as Volvo Global Senior Vice President and CEO of Volvo Cars China.

Richard Snijders will report to Shen Hui, and Gerry Keaney, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Car Corporation, auto.sohu.com said.
