Changan sets 2011 sales target of 2.4m vehicles
Shanghai January 20 (Gasgoo.com) With its sales last year reaching record highs of 2,378,800 vehicles, Chongqing Changan Automobile Group has set its 2011 sales target to 2.4 million vehicles.
 
The company was able to easily surpass its total 2010 sales goal of 2.2 million vehicles, with its Changan Automobile Company branch setting a new record of 1.9 million vehicles sold, an increase of 35.43% from the previous year. Its Changhe and Hefei branches also made breakthroughs in sales last year.
 
In order to reach its 2020 goal of becoming a leading automobile company selling 6 million vehicles, Changan has reached agreements with the governments of Jiansu, Anhui, Beijing and others to expand its production sites. Most recently the company made a deal to open a production base in Yunnan province. The company has also opened or is planning to open nine research facilities spanning five countries.
