Dongfeng Nissan denies auto parts shortage

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 29) - Dongfeng Nissan denied media allegations that its Xiangfan plant has been forced to halt production, the Beijing News reported today. The rebuttal comes in the face of media allegations that stated that the production site was suffering an auto parts shortage due to the recent Touhoku earthquake.

Guo Wei, head of Dongfeng Nissan's marketing department, said that the site had enough auto parts to continue normal operation until early April, and would not decrease production before then. However, dealers have already stated that they were encountering difficulty in securing spare parts for the Nissan Teana (pictured). The Teana VQ engine is made entirely from imported components from a factory located only 60km from the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
