Audi Q3 to debut at Auto Shanghai 2011
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 11) - Having bypassed the Geneva Motor Show, the Audi Q3 SUV is going to be making its world premiere at this month's Auto Shanghai 2011, the Beijing Times reported today. FAW-Volkswagen will begin importing the Q3 soon after, with talks on domestic production also underway.
The Q3 (pictured above), which is based on the VW Tiguan platform, will be produced at Audi's Martorell production site in northeastern Spain, which has an annual production capability of 80,000 vehicles. Europe is expected to see the Q3 this summer, while North America will have to wait to the end of the year.
In other news, Audi will not be showing off the A3 sedan concept (pictured below) which premiered at Geneva last month. According to sources within the company, there is still doubt as to when the sedan will be cleared for domestic production, as Audi still needs to consider potential return. The A3 would also most likely first be sold as an imported version.
