Geely says vehicle sales volume up 14% in Q1

Reuters (Hong Kong) - Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd, a homegrown Chinese car maker, said on Tuesday that its vehicle sales volume rose 14 percent in the first quarter to 117,698 units. 

Geely sold 40,258 vehicles in March, up 33 percent from the same month last year and an increase of 27 percent from February, it said in a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange.

The company beat national car sales growth of 6.5 percent in March and 9.1 percent for the first quarter.
