Production of Dongfeng Honda CR-V to recover next month

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 30) - Production of the Dongfeng Honda CR-V will resume to normal levels starting next month, the Beijing Times reported today. Production of the SUV has been cut back these past few months due to shortages of auto parts from Japan, in turn negatively affecting sales.

Production of the CR-V (pictured) began getting scaled back as early as April. According to unspecified Beijing dealer, purchase restrictions in the capital have also helped drive up prices of the SUV.

With the difficulty in securing auto parts, Dongfeng Honda has had a hard time fulfilling sales targets, with May sales only slightly more than 5,000 units. The difficulty has been felt by other manufacturers, with the entire SUV market contracting 19.7 percent in the month.
