Dongfeng Nissan elaborates on sales plans for Venucia brand

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 19) - The production version of the new Nissan Venucia will make its debut soon, dnkb.com.cn reported today, quoting sources from Dongfeng Nissan. The car will officially enter the market in the first half of next year.

"As far as Dongfeng Nissan is concerned, the Venucia possesses important strategic significance," Ren Yong, vice president for the joint venture, said during the announcement of the new brand last year. "The Chinese market is very large [and] very diverse; [therefore] relying only on the Nissan brand is not enough to satisfy the needs of rapid growth in the future." Mr. Ren emphasized the importance he placed in the brand, saying that it was both the future direction and a turning point for the joint venture.

A new sales network is to be set up to support the Venucia brand, with, as the joint venture puts it, focusing on world-class quality. Built on the foundation of the current Dongfeng Nissan dealers and staff, the new network will offer superior service. Dongfeng Nissan's methodology is different from that of Guangqi Honda's Everus and SAIC-GM-Wuling's Baojun. Though Venucia shops will be separated from those of its parent company, it will make use of Nissan technology and resources, as well as adhere to Nissan standards.

When asked about the importance of creating an individual network, officials from Dongfeng Nissan's marketing department said that without such a network, it would be impossible to satisfy customer demands for high-quality service. The JV has reportedly agreed to cooperate with 176 dealers for the brand, much higher than the 100 originally proposed. Construction on the first independent Venucia dealer will begin at the end of this year.
