Gasgoo.com (Shanghai November 14) - Dongfeng Nissan will be introducing a high-end minivan to this November's Guangzhou International Motor Show, the Guangzhou Daily reported today. The new minivan, which will be sold via the joint venture's sales channels, will help Dongfeng Nissan penetrate the minivan segment, where it currently has little presence.

The new vehicle is also purportedly to eventually be part of the JV's new Venucia own brand. Dongfeng Nissan has planned to begin research and development work on the maiden model for the brand by the end of this year. The JV will begin work on a second model soon after, with market introduction scheduled f or the end of next year.

When asked whether or not Dongfeng Nissan was considering exporting Venucia brand vehicles, JV Deputy General Manager Ren Yong answered that the brand was designed with Chinese consumers in mind, and that for the time being there were no plans to expand outside of the country. According to some predictions, the Venucia brand will expand to cover five models, with estimated sales of over 300,000 units.
