Dongfeng Honda recalls 2270 Civics
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai December 15) - Dongfeng Honda has issued a recall of 2,270 2012 model year Civic sedans today, China Business News reported. The recall order, which has already been handed into the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, will target Civic manufactured from late September to mid-November of 2011.
According to the AQSIQ announcement, a very small number of the Civics (pictured) in question lack a screw in an auxiliary gear in the steering system. In extreme circumstances, when the driving wheel is turned to its leftmost, the car may steer in the opposite direction. The announcement emphasized that only a small number of vehicles may actually be affected.
Dongfeng Honda will conduct free inspection of all the Civics in question. If the fault is discovered, Dongfeng Honda will replace the entire drive train free of charge.
