Dongfeng Yueda Kia own brand to be called Dianyue

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 28) - On the heels of the Guangqi Honda's Everus, SAIC-GM-Wuling's Baojun, Dongfeng Nissan's Venucia and Beijing Hyundai's Shouwang, Dongfeng Yuedai Kia has announced the name of its upcoming own brand: Dianyue, the Beijing Morning Post reported today.

Dianyue is a two character Chinese compound composed of the words for 'classic' and 'joy'. A logo for the brand has already been selected.

Dongfeng Yueda Kia General Manager Su Nanyong has mentioned the joint venture's intent to release a new own brand model in the past. According to reports, the brand's flagship model will be a pure electric car based on the Kia Cerato (pictured below). According to supposed spy shots, the new car shares the same general measurements as the Cerato, as well as borrows several design elements. It will reportedly boast a top speed of 110 km/h. Other details are still very scarce.
