Honda sells over 62000 vehicles in China in April
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 8) - Honda's two Chinese joint ventures, Guangqi Honda and Dongfeng Honda sold a total of 62,089 vehicles in China in April, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today, citing the manufacturer's recently released monthly performance review. The joint ventures' combined sales during the month represent year-on-year growth of 43.2 percent.
Guangqi Honda sold a total of 34,581 vehicles, growing 51.2 percent from April of last year. The Accord (pictured above) remained Guangqi Honda's best selling model, accumulating 10,138 sales in the month. It was followed by the City subcompact, which managed sales of 9,540 units. Sales of the Crosstour (pictured below), Fit and Odyssey totaled 4,637 units 4,366 units and 2,300 units, respectively. In particular, the Crosstour crossover saw exceptional sales growth from last April, when only 163 units were sold. The JV's Everus own brand also performed strongly, with sales of its S1 sedan totaling 3,600 units.
Dongfeng Honda, meanwhile, sold a total of 27,508 vehicles, 34.3 percent more than last April. The JV's best selling model was the CR-V SUV, with a total of 17,417 units sold in the month. 6,035 Civics and 1,034 Spiriors were sold. The new Ciimo managed sales of 3,022 units.
