Honda planning to release several new models in China

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 16) - At the recently concluded Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, Honda premiered two models designed for the Chinese market, the Concept C and the Concept S. Honda also showed off the CR-Z Hybrid, Insight Hybrid and Fit Hybrid, which according to a report appearing on xkb.com.cn today, will make their market debut in China before long.

The Concept C (pictured above) is a mid-class sedan directed exclusively at the Chinese market. Honda claims that its Acura-like design is based on a dragon. The car will be a strategic model for the manufacturer, with both Japanese and Chinese R&D teams scheduled to work on the product. The Concept C, which is scheduled to come to the market next year, will be made by Guangqi Honda.

The Concept S, meanwhile, is a global model designed with Chinese tastes in mind. The hybrid-powered car will also make its debut in China next year, where it will be sold by Dongfeng Honda, before it is introduced to other markets.

In addition to the above models, Honda is also working on developing new engine and electric vehicle technology. According to Honda Motor President Takanobu Ito, the advancements that Honda is working on will help usher in a brand new series of environmentally friendly engines.
