Production of FAW Besturn B90 to begin later this July
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 16) - The newest model in FAW Car's own brand Besturn, the B90, will begin rolling off the manufacturer's assembly lines later this month, Beijing News reported today. Sales will commence within the next two months, FAW Car stated. The car will carry a price tag between 180,000 and 200,000 yuan ($28,661-$31,846) and will compete directly with the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Teana.
The B90 (pictured) comes less than a month after the release of FAW Car's brand new Besturn B70. FAW Car was able to make use of Mazda platform technology to develop the car. The B90 measures 4.86 m long, 1.81 m wide and 1.47 m tall, with a wheelbase of 2.78 m, making it a little larger than the Mazda6 Ruiyi. The B90 is equipped with the same xenon headlight design seen in other Besturn vehicles.
Several of the Hongqi H7's advanced features, such as the Adaptive Frontlighting System, will be carried over to the B90. The B90 will offer electronic stability control, one button startup, multifunctional steering wheel, eight-way parking sensor, electronic seat controls, dual zone air conditioning and other features.
The B90 has both 2.0 L and 2.3 L engine options mated to a six-speed manumatic transmission. The engines boast maximum outputs of 108 kW and 118 kW, respectively. An independently developed turbocharged engine is reportedly also in the works.
