FAW Car's Besturn B90 makes Chinese market debut

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai August 26) - FAW Car's new Besturn B90 has made its official Chinese market debut this past weekend, cheshi.com reported today. The luxury B90 is the latest entry in the Besturn line-up, which has gained praised from reviewers and consumers across the country for its blend of mature technology and reasonable prices. Besturn automobiles are also sought after because they are built on the same platforms used for several joint venture vehicles. The B90, which is developed on the same platform as the Mazda6 Ruiyi, is no exception.

The B90 (pictured) is available in seven different variants ranging from 139,800 yuan and 199,800 yuan ($22,108-$31,597). Much like previous models, the car comes with both 2.0 L and 2.3 L engine options available. Despite being based on the compact Mazda6 Ruiyi, the B90 is fairly large, with a wheelbase 5.5 cm longer than the Ruiyi's. The B90 sports a fashionable exterior design, borrowing several motifs from the Audi A6L. It comes with LED lights to allow for safer night-time driving.

Own brands have been gaining popularity in the Chinese market over the last few years, with GAC's Trumpchi, Dongfeng Nissan's Venucia, Guangqi Honda's Everus, Dongfeng Honda's Ciimo and SAIC's Baojun all having made a name for themselves in the country. Furthermore, FAW has already seen success with the B50, which is based on the Mazda6. The manufacturer should be in a good position to repeat that success with the new B90.
