Ford sells over 60000 vehicles in China in October

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai November 7) - Ford China recently released its Chinese sales performance review for October, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today. According to the review, Ford sold a total of 60,518 vehicles in October, marking a new monthly record for the manufacturer. The figure represents year-on-year growth of 48 percent for the manufacturer.

Of Ford's total Chinese sales volume this month, 44,489 were of passenger automobiles. The Focus (pictured above) alone managed to bring in 33,614 orders over the month. Over 221,000 Focuses have been sold over the first ten months of the year. Ford China Board Chairman and CEO David Schoch was reportedly very happy in the Focus' performance in China. The imported Edge SUV (pictured below) also sold strongly, with its sales growing 77 percent last month.

Ford's two joint ventures in China have reported positive growth rates in October. Changan Ford Mazda sold a total of 43,555 Ford brand passenger automobiles, while Jiangling sold 16,029 Ford commercial vehicles. The two JVs sales increased 65 percent and 22 percent, respectively.

Mr. Schoch stated that Ford is committed to bringing over high quality and fuel efficient vehicles for its Chinese consumers. He added that the manufacturer is also continuing to expand its sales network in the country. Mr. Schoch also confirmed that Ford will bring over the Kuga and Explorer SUVs to China soon.
