Hyundai to recall imported Velostars in China
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai January 5) - Hyundai China has sent two recall orders to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine for imported Velostar compacts in China, gov.cn reported today. According to the order, Hyundai will begin recalling 2012 model year Velostars on January 15.
The Velostars (pictured) in the first recall were manufactured between April 2011 and February 2012. The seal rings in the parking brake calipers in the cars in question are not sealed properly. The calipers may corrode, which may cause the brake to work improperly. Furthermore, the car may vibrate abnormally while being driven and may not remain still while parked. A total of 2,408 vehicles are targeted in the first recall order.
The second recall order targets 456 Velostars manufactured between November 2011 and April 2012. Those vehicles are being recalled due to a flaw with their sunroofs. The sunroof window may shatter in extreme circumstances.
Hyundai will inspect all recalled vehicles to determine if they suffer from any of the above problems. If problems are found, the manufacturer will make the appropriate repairs.
