JMC increases funding for Ford SUV project

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 9) - Jiangling Motors has announced that its board of directors has approved adding funding of $24 million to its J08 project, auto.qq.com reported today. The J08 project, which will involve the introduction of a new Ford SUV to China, will now carry a total cost exceeding $60 million.

According to the J08 project, JMC will bring over a new Ford SUV to the country. Which model JMC will bring over has yet to be confirmed. However, according to a source close to the manufacturer, the SUV will be a brand new Ford model that has not been publicly released yet. The SUV will reportedly be larger the Toyota Prado, and will make its market debut within the next three years, the source added.
