Dongfeng aims to export 100000 vehicles in 2013
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 23) - Dongfeng Motors aims to export 100,000 vehicles this year, auto.qq.com reported today, citing a statement made by the manufacturer at a summit for its overseas dealerships held this weekend in Shanghai.
At the summit (pictured), Dongfeng Group Deputy General Manager Zhou Qiang emphasized that the manufacturer is aiming to make its domestic businesses more international while simultaneously increasing the localization rate of its overseas businesses. It will aim strengthening its brand image, improving its sales channels and customer service operations and increasing the pace with which it releases new models.
According to its recently revealed overseas strategy, Dongfeng plans to establish two sales companies to oversee its operations in foreign markets such as South America, Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The manufacturer will also establish 32 new passenger car dealerships, 74 commercial vehicle dealerships, four customer service centers, three training centers and two equipment centers in overseas markets.
The manufacturer also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Railway Construction Corporation, China Nonferrous Metal Mining, China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation and the Chinese branch of the Standard Chartered Bank at the summit.
Dongfeng exported a total of 84,800 vehicles last year, representing year-on-year growth of 32.26 percent. The majority of exports were of commercial vehicles.
