Chery announces new Arrizo name for sedan models
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 29) - On the floor of the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, Chery debuted a new own brand model built on the iAuto platform. According to a new report appearing on auto.qq.com today, the new model, known as the M16 and released in concept form as the α7, will carry the Arrizo name in English and the Rui XX name in Chinese.
As the newest entry in Chery's lineup following its commitment to a one-brand strategy, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the M16 (pictured) and how it will be marketed. Prior to its debut at Auto Shanghai, many in the media predicted that the new model will resemble the Chery A4.
According to internal sources from Chery, the Arrizo name, which the M16 will be sold under, will be marketed alongside the QQ, Fulwin and Tiggo series. The QQ and Fulwin series will include subcompact and compact vehicles, respectively. The Arrizo series, meanwhile, will include various compact, midsize and fullsize sedans.
