Ford recalls over 13000 vehicles due to malfunctioning child safety lock

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 1) - Ford has announced a recall of 13,100 various vehicles, Xinhua reported today. The recall covers 2013 model year Explorer SUVs, Taurus sedans and Lincoln MKS sedans.

The vehicles in question are suspected to have a flaw in where their child safety locks may fail to function, in which case the doors may be opened from the inside. To date there has been no accidents reported related to the defect. The affected vehicles were manufactured in Ford's Chicago factory from November to December of last year, and are sold in the US, Canada and Mexico.
