Ford sells over 75000 vehicles in China in June
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 9) - Ford China sold a total of 75,254 vehicles in June, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today. The figure represents year-on-year growth of 44 percent for the manufacturer. A total of 407,721 Fords were sold in the country over the first half of the year, up 47 percent from the first half of 2012.Ford's chief Chinese joint venture responsible for selling passenger automobiles, Changan Ford, sold a total of 54,862 vehicles in June, up 48 percent from the previous year. The JV's sales for the first six months of the year totaled a record 286,680 vehicles, equivalent to year-on-year growth of 66 percent.
The Focus (pictured above) remains one of Ford's top-selling models in the country. Focus sales last month totaled 31,499 units, up 16 percent from last June. 185,697 Focuses have been sold since the beginning of the year, marking year-on-year growth of 69 percent.
Sales for the Kuga (pictured below) in June totaled 9,248 units, while those of the EcoSport totaled 5,661 units. The two models, alongside the imported Edge and Explorer, constitute Ford's comprehensive SUV lineup for the Chinese market.
Sales of imported Ford passanger automobiles for the first six months of the year totaled 10,811 units, nearly five times the 2,222 units sold in the first half of 2012.
Ford's partner for commercial vehicles in China, Jiangling Motors, reported selling 16,022 Ford-branded automobiles in June, up six percent from the previous year. The manufacturer's 110,230 sales figure for the first half of the year marks a new record, and is equivalent to year-on-year growth of seven percent.
