FAW-Volkswagen FoShan Plant Finished, First Golf 7 Rolled Off

“FAW-Volkswagen terminal sales ranks top one in the first 8 months.” Pijie Zhang, general manager of FAW-Volkswagen said during interview with Tencent Auto. Facing passenger car top one sales competition, FAW-Volkswagen has finished its Foshan plant and new Golf series. It will dramatically increase FAW-Volkswagen production capacity.

FAW-Volkswagen has invested 1.3 billion Yuan into the first phrase of Foshan plant, and annual capacity is around 300 thousand. FAW and signed an agreement with Volkswagen that second phrase Foshan plant building will cost 15.3 billion Yuan and lasts for 36 months. It will increase 300 thousand vehicle capacity annually. Foshan plant will have 600 thousand capacity totally in 2015.

As one of the typical and core products of Volkswagen, Golf has 39 years’ history and 30 million sales record. Golf has a huge success in China as well. FAW-Volkswagen has launched its 6th generation golf in 2009, which brings original Golf flavor to Chinese consumer and identified by consumers.

On 25 September, new Golf rolled off at new Foshan plant. It is possible to launch market this year. New Golf has followed high standard and high quality history, and injected soul and believe inside, which will bring whole new experience to consumer. New Golf might be new sample for hatchback.

Besides, the second model made in Foshan plant is Audi A3. Pijie Zhang introduces “Foshan plant will make Volkswagen and Audi brands, and will introduce more models in the future.”
