Dongfeng Renault Joint Venture Project Been Approved, Wuhan Plant Initialed

Dongfeng Renault project takes as long as 9 years, but it finally step into end. This Monday, as reporter known from Dongfeng Auto staff, Dongfeng Renault joint venture project has been approved by National Development and Reform Commission. Its plant is initialed, and is expected to finish before the end of next year.

Logistics contract for plant stuff is confirmed almost. It is expected to finish at the end of next year. The plant will be put into operation at the beginning of 2015, annualyield will around 150 thousand passenger car and 150 thousand engines. Its first China made product is SUV Koleos.

Dongfeng Renault foundation laying ceremony has been delayed couple of times because of approvesissues. But now it is able to restart overall. Just in last month, Renault-Nissan league CEO Carlos Ghosn visited Dongfeng Renault quietly. As inner staff said, one main goal for Carlos visit is about channel development. Its initial decision is to manage imported and China made cars channels together.

According to Renault China plan, the brand will develop around 110 imported car dealers at the end of this year. However, it is still every sensitive for leading position of sales channel control and profit divided mode.
