Dongfeng 2013 Sales 3.5 Million, Increases 14.8% over Last Year

According to latest statistics of Dongfeng, the company has sold 3.5 million cars in 2013, which has increased 14.8%. It over fulfill its 3.32 million sales goal made at the beginning of 2013. Among them, Dec of 2013 single months sales was 359.6 thousand, which has increased 30.3% over last year.

According to statistics of Dongfeng, in 2013, the company has sold car 1.27 million, which has increased 19.8% over sales of last year. Among them, Dongfeng Nissan passenger car company has sold 926 thousand totally this year, which has increased 19.8%. Dongfeng automobile has sold 272 thousand, which has increased 3.5%. Dongfeng commercial car has sold 181.2 thousand, which has increased 12.4%. Dongfeng passenger car has sold more than 80 thousand, which has increased 33%. Dongfeng KIA has sold 546.8 thousand, which has increased 13.8%. Dongfeng Yulong has sold 32.9 thousand.

In 2013, Dongfeng owned brand sales reach 1.27 million, which has increased 13.4%. Among them, Dongfeng owned commercial car sales reach 615.5 thousand, which has increased 1.6%. Besides, Dongfeng owned brand passenger car sales reach 655.6 thousand, which has increased 27.3%. Dongfeng joint venture brand Venucia annual sales hit 10 thousand milestone to 105 thousand.

From overall sales statistics, Dongfeng its brand and joint venture brand have recovery from Diaoyu Island influence step by step in 2013. It has exceeded 900 thousand goal. And its joint venture brand Venucia performs better than expectation as well. Dongfeng Honda, which is a brand of Japanese, has remained its growth from last year, which makes 13.9% growth. Besides, with the development of Korean automobiles, Dongfeng KIA remains its growth. Although limited by production capacity, it does not have its harvest in 2013, after the 3rd plant build up, Dongfeng KIA sales will step forwards for sure. Meanwhile, DPCA, benefiting by its new cars and active marketing, has as high as 25% growth.

From itself brand perspective, automobile analyst ZHANG Zhiyong points out Dongfeng automobile sales is on itself brand, Japanese brand and others. Dongfeng brand rely more on its commercial car and non-passenger car. Dongfeng brands are under integration, but its system has not finished yet. Therefore, Chinese brands, such as Dongfeng, still have a long way to build up its core competitive power.
