Chery sells over 36000 vehicles in August

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 11) - Chery Automobile has recently released its sales performance summary for the month of August, auto.ifeng.com reported today. According to the report, Chery sold a total of 36,156 vehicles over the course of the month, up 23.3 percent from July and representing year-on-year growth of 15.3 percent. The domestic market accounted for 25,654 of its sales last month, increasing 23.1 percent from July and 17.5 percent from last August. This marks the highest domestic monthly sales result for Chery since January of this year. The remaining 10,502 sales were of foreign-bound exports.

Although August is traditionally a slow month in the Chinese automobile market, Chery still managed to perform very well. The manufacturer's sales result has helped keep it on track to fulfilling its 2014 target. Chery's SUVs played a core role in its monthly sales performance. According to statistics, the Chery Tiggo SUV series brought in a total of 18,337 orders over the course of the month, with 11,454 of those being for the Tiggo 3 alone. August sales of the Tiggo 3 achieved impressive year-on-year growth of 171.5 percent. Sales of the Tiggo 5 were also commendable, with a total of 6,883 sold during the month.

Chery has also been making strides in the international market. In July, Chery and the Venezuelan Ministry of Commerce agreed to a purchase order of 13,000 automobiles. The Tiggo 5, Arrizo 7 and E3 have all made their debuts on the Russian market. In addition, construction work on Chery's largest overseas automobile manufacturing factory, located in Brazil, was completed last week. This factory will mark a new phase for Chery international operations.

Chery placed sixth place and ninth place in the J.D. Power Asia- Pacific 2014 Customer Service Index and Sales Satisfaction Index, respectively.
