BYD aims to increase coverage of new energy vehicle market in 2015

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai January 29) - BYD has announced its new energy vehicle plan for the year at an event in Shenzhen earlier this week, the Beijing Times reported today. At the event, BYD CEO Wang Chuanfu stated that the manufacturer is planning to build brand new product supply lines for new energy vehicles, allowing BYD to cover all segments in the new energy vehicle market.

Mr. Wang (pictured) emphasized BYD’s intention to offer new energy alternatives to all of its traditional automobiles under its new 7 4 plan. BYD will offer a full host of plug-in electric hybrid including plug-in electric hybrids ranging from sedans to SUVs. The manufacturer is also working with Daimler to create the Denza own brand to target the pure electric vehicle market. BYD also looks to strengthen its portfolio of public transit vehicles, including pure electric buses, as well as expand into the commercial vehicle sector with new energy dump trucks and forklifts.
