FAW-VW issues recall of 560000 VW Sagitars

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 9) - After a long five months, FAW Volkswagen has finally decided up on a recall plan for its Sagitar in China. According to a report appearing in the Information Times today, FAW-VW has begun a recall of 560,000 FAW-VW Sagitars and 17,000 imported Beetles due to problems with their rear coupling suspension. Previously many owners received letters that their vehicles were eligible for an additional decade-long warrantee. The problem has caused a lot of controversy among Chinese owners, with many owners unable to getting rejected by dealerships when going to them for repairs.

The current recall will affect FAW-VW Sagitars manufactured between May 2011 and May 2014 and imported Beetles made between April 2012 and July 2013.

An owner of a FAW-VW dealership confirmed that his business has already begun recalling vehicles in accordance with requests from the manufacturer. According to the owner, his business able to recall and repair 20 vehicles a day, with average time per vehicle one hour long. However, many owners are still unsatisfied by FAW-VW’s response, with many of them stating their worries of driving their vehicles too quickly.
