Old senior officials to leave Chery Jaguar Land Rover, with new ones to take over
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 14) On September 7, Jaguar Land Rover China and Chery Jaguar Land Rover internally released an official order made by Chen Anning, CEO and COO of Chery and Phil Hodgkinson, Director for Global Business Development of Jaguar Land Rover that Zhu Guohua, Vice President of Chery Jaguar Land Rover and Chris Bryant, President of Chery Jaguar Land Rover will leave their position after expiration of the term of office.
Zhu Guohua and Chris Bryant were from Chery and Jaguar Land Rover respectively, and together managed Chery Jaguar Land Rover on behalf of their own companies. According to shareholders of both companies, during their three years in office, they established Chery Jaguar Land Rover, the joint venture, in 2012, and then built world first-class motor manufacture base in Changshu, and also successfully sold Land Rover Evoque and Land Rover Freelander in China.
According to the initial contract, Zhu Guohua and Chris Bryant took office in 2012, and the term of office was three years. After they leave current positions, Zhu Guohua will be General Manager Assistant of Chery, partly in charge of joint business of Chery, while the new designation of Chris Bryant will be announced later.
As to the successors, Murray Dietsch, current Director for vehicle production line of Jaguar Land Rover platform D8, will be the President of Chery Jaguar Land Rover, replacing Bai Run, while Chris Chen, current Deputy CEO of Manufacturing Department of Chery Jaguar Land Rover, will be Deputy Executive Vice President of Chery Jaguar Land Rover, replacing Zhu Guohua, while Chris Chen’s position will be taken over by Han Biwen, current Director of Production Office of Chery. According to sources, Murray will finish handover in early October, and will take over the new position in November.
Chery is going to launch their plan to be listed. Whether Chery Jaguar Land Rover, the major source of business and profits, is able to successfully expand the market may influence Jaguar Land Rove’s development in China, and Chery’s plan to be listed.
