BMW (China) sales expected to surge 80% '07

With the expansion of BMW supplier base in China, BMW Group is looking forward to an 80% surge in sales, giving 3.6 billion yuan of revenue in 2007.

Meanwhile, BMW Group said that the number of its domestic automobile suppliers will be increased from 60 last year to 100 by the end of this year.

BMW, world's largest premium vehicle manufacturer, with its partner in China, Brilliance, produces 3 series and 5 series locally in China with an annual output of about 30,000 units.

In the first quarter of this year, BMW sold a total of 10,177 units in China, an increase of 34% from a year earlier.
