Production of engines reached 3.2 million units during Jan-May

Statistics from China Auto Industry Association show that the top 52 domestic engine makers produced a total of 3,291,400 engines and achieved sales of 3,239,900 units between January and May this year. The combined number is forecasted to reach 7 million by the end of this year.

Corresponding to the stable growth trend in the complete-vehicle market, production volume and sales of auto engines in the first five months have seen an increase of 21.19% and 19.89&, respectively.

Of the 52 major engine makers, the top 15 enterprises in domestic sales were Yuchai Group, Liuzhou-Wuling, FAW-VW, Chery Auto, SVW, Guangzhou Toyota Engine Co, FAW Group Corp, Harbin Dongan Auto Engine Co, Harbin Dongan Automotive Engine Co, Beijing Hyundai Motor CO, Dongfeng Honda Engine Co, SGM, Kunming Yunnei power Co, and Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Auto. The top 15 enterprises remain almost unchanged compared with that of the first quarter, with a few minor adjustments.

Diesel engines maintained strong growth momentum in the first five months; sales and production volume of the diesel type engine were 886,100 and 908,700, up 25.67% and 26.55% y-o-y respectively.
