SAIC ranks in the "Fortune" world top 500

Fortune magazine announced the "2006 World 500 enterprises" yesterday. SAIC with a sales income of 18 billion U.S. dollars ranked No. 402 in the top 500. while it ranked No. 475 in 2005. This is the third time for SAIC to be listed in the top 500.

Their sales income shot up 25% compared with 2005. In 2005, SAIC total sales revenue was 14.365 billion U.S. dollars. It is expected that SAIC sales revenue will increase marginally in 2007.

According to statistics, in H1 of 2007, SAIC vehicle sales exceeded 840,000 units, its subsidiaries Shanghai GM and SAIC General WULING won sales champion in passenger cars and commercial vehicles respectively.

While in passenger cars, SAIC joint venture -- Shanghai GM, Shanghai Volkswagen ranked No.1 and No.2, SGM sales reached 226,000 units, SVW sales reached 213,000 units. By the end of June 2007, Roewe750, SAIC's self brand was sold 7,632 units since it was launched in March.

In the overseas market, South Korea Ssangyong Motors acquired by SAIC posted a sales of 65,000 units, increased 7% y-o-y.

In the commercial vehicle market, SAIC commercial vehicle sales in H1 exceeded 300,000 units, increased 29% y-o-y, of which SAIC Iveco Hongyan sales were 14,000 units, increased 97% y-o-y; SAIC General WULING mini commercial vehicles sales were 282,000 units, increased 23.3% y-o-y; Shanghai Huizhong commercial vehicle sales increased 21.9% y-o-y.
