Brilliance to set up new base in south China

Brilliance auto plant in hi-tech development zone of Mianyang in Sichuan Province has been laid the foundation, quoted from Brilliance PR Department as saying. Thus Brilliance will have two auto plants across the nation, the other one is in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, north China.

It is reported that the project is one of Brilliance strategy. According to the Group's strategy, Brilliance plans the project to be completed by 2010, with an initial annual output of 150,000 units. Meanwhile, Brilliance hopes by 2010, its annual output will be doubled than that of 2008.

In addition, Mianyang auto plant will be seen as an important export base. Once completed, some Brilliance Jinbei vans will be exported to Southeast Asia directly from the base.

the new plant is a major production base making Brilliance Jinbei series, including light passenger, commercial vehicle, SUV, pickup and micro truck.

In addition, the new plant will develop light diesel engine product, and these engines will be configured on its models.
