China Auto Imports & Exports jumped more than 70% in 1st 5 months
China's sedan exports soared 80.85 percent year on year to 51,700 units in the first five months of 2007, according to figures from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
In May exports of completely built vehicles were 47,000 units, up 12.12% from April and 80.27% year on year. Foreign exchanges by export were $524 million, up 7.09% from April and 160% year on year. In the first five months completely built vehicles exports were 188,700 units, up 66.60% and earned foreign exchanges of 1.13 billion, up 99.30% year on year. Sedan exports soared 80.85% year on year to 51,700 units, van exports went up by 52.52% to 80,400 units and bus exports jumped by 240% to 23,300 units. Exports of these three kinds of automobiles in the first five months were 155,400 units, accounting for 82.35% of the total.
China imported 108,000 vehicles in the first five months, an increase of 25.3 percent, with imports of sedans up 34 percent to 50,400 units, cross-country vehicles up 21 percent and minibuses up three percent.
In the fifth month auto imports in China were 25,100 units, up 5.83% from April and 71.07% year on year, import volume reached a total of 805 million yuan, up 3.63% from April and 69.51% year on year. Sedan imports increased by 76.45% year on year to 12,110 units, and up 17.88% from April, cross-country vehicles up 78.13% to 11,051 units, 3.76% higher than April.
