Nippon Light Metal to set up spare parts plant in China

Nippon Light Metal said the Group will set up an auto parts plant in China to produce bumper made of aluminum, and it will boost its alloy output at home to make aluminum engines. These parts made of alloy could increase fuel efficiency and will keep with the trend of environmental-friendly auto development.

The new plant plans to start production at the year of 2009, its location and capacity will be fixed at later time, it is predicted the investment will be as high as billion yen. Currently the Group has one plant in Shenzhen City, in south China.
 
The Group plans to boost monthly production of its plant in Japan from 2,000 tons to 3,000 tons, about a 50% increase.
