Guangzhou's total number of vehicles in use tops one million
Shanghai. August 16 (Gasgoo.com) – The number of vehicle in use in Guangzhou city of Guangdong province has jumped to 1 million units this year from the 348,000 units at the end of 1999, an annual increase of 20% over past eight years.
Guangdong Traffic Bureau said it would further improve road and traffic conditions to reduce traffic jams. The authorities also asked citizens to observe traffic regulations.
In Beijing, total number of vehicles in use has reached 3.07 million this year.
China may overtake the United States in total number of vehicles in use by late 2030s, according to Rong Huikang, an auto expert from China Association of Automobile Association.
