China auto exports to top 500,000 vehicles in 2007

Shanghai. August 17 (Gasgoo.com) - China auto exports are expected to reach 510,000 units with total value of $5.6 billion in 2007, up from 343,500 units at $3.134 billion in 2006, Chinese official told the 1st Russia-China Automobile Forum.

In the first half of 2007, China exported 241,000 vehicles worth $2.7 billion. The average unit price for exported vehicles was $11,200, up 23 percent from last year.

With total imports of 38,600 Chinese-made vehicles worth over $450 million, Russia became the largest importer of Chinese-made cars during the first half of the year.

Kazakhstan stood in the second place importing 6,445 Chinese-made vehicles and Iran came in the third.

By vehicle types, Chinese vehicle exports mainly concentrate on commercial vehicles. Mid to large size buses and trucks account for 65 percent of total export volume and 72 of export value respectively while sedans, SUVs and mini-buses account for 35 percent of export volume and 28 percent of export value.

Sedan exports are growing steadily according to official statistics.
