Jinhua Young Man Vehicle to make Proton Gen 2

Shanghai. August 20 (Gasgoo.com) - Chinese automaker, Jinhua Young Man Vehicle Co.,Ltd will introduce Proton Gen 2 and make it locally in China, Pang Qingnian, president of Young Man Group, told local media in in Kuala Lumpur last week.

Young Man will first import Proton Gen 2 and then assembly locally in China and this model will be sold under Lotus brand. Young Man hopes to sell 30,000 units in 20 months after the car model is introduced, Pang said.

The first batch of 1,500 units of Proton Gen 2 will be imported and be sold in China by the coming November, Pang told local media in Kuala Lumpur. "We will start assemble Gen 2 next January. I cannot say the volume of production, but the volume will definitely be a lot higher than the imports."

In past July, Jinhua Young Man and Proton Automobile had signed an agreement that Jinhua Young Man will import 30,000 units from Proton Automobile within 20 months and sell the models using Lotus brands. In another development, Jinhua Young Man will set up a new plant in Jinan, Shandong Province, and the annual production capacity is set at 150,000 units.
