Dongfeng Honda to raise capacity by 30%

Shanghai. November 20 (Gasgoo.com) – Dongfeng Honda will raise its production capacity by 30 percent, Mitsuru Ozaki, general manager of Dongfeng Honda told the auto channel of Sina.com yesterday.

“We initially planned to produce 120,000 vehicles this year; however, we may produce about 125,000 vehicles this year,” said Ozaki. “Our assembly lines are working on full capacity now.”
 
“Since hitting market in April this year, Honda CR-V produced by has soon become a popular model,” Ozaki said. “Currently our assembly lines are running at full capacity; we produce 5,000 units a month. But the market demand is bigger than our output capacity.”
 
In the first ten months this year, Dongfeng Honda has produced 35,016 Honda CR-V vehicles, up 61.4 percent from one year earlier. While the joint venture has produced 65,642 Honda Civic vehicles in the same period, up 158.7 percent from one year earlier.
