Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Jan 7th)– According to our source, FAW Mazda will end the production of Mazda 6 in China this June, following the debut of CX-4, which is also in this June.

Mazda 6 has got a great record in China. It has been 8 years since this sedan firstly appeared in Chinese market in 2007. With monthly sales of 10,000 units and even a record of 12,200 units in 2011, Mazda 6 has absolutely stolen the limelight over other models including Ruiyi, a newer generation of Mazda 6.

However, the sales of this heroic model have inevitably decreased year after year, influenced by other emerging new models in the markets. FAW Mazda only sold 1,405 Mazda6 in November 2015, a decrease of 76.27% compared against November 2014. The decreasing sales and the introduction of new Atenza, a similar model of Mazda6, have finally brought FAW Mazda’s decision to stop the production of Mazda 6 in China.

Analysts believed, when Mazda 6 finally out of production, the Atenza will be the main force of this carmaker to fight for market shares, considering the weak performance of Ruiyi.
