Dongfeng Renault appoints François Provost as President

Gasgoo (Shanghai, April 8) — Confirmed by the Board of Director on April 7^th, 2016, Mr. François Provost will take Jacques DANIEL’s position as President of Dongfeng Renault Auto Company (DRAC). In the meantime, Mr. François Provost is appointed by Renault Group as Senior Vice President of China District.

As one of the founders, Mr. DANIEL witnesses Dongfeng Renault’s growth and development, from initial negotiation and preparation to the establishment of the company. He has made great contribution to the company’s development, and laid solid foundation for its future development.

Mr. François Provost was born on June, 1968, and graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines de Paris. He took position in French Ministry of Economy and Finance as a senior civil servant, and then worked in French Defense Ministry. He joined French Renault in 2002 as Market Sales general manager and then was promoted as District Sales Director. He was appointed as Chief Manager of Renault-Nissan Group Portugal Branch. He was appointed as global market sales strategy and plan chief in 2008 to 2010, and then became COO of Renault Russia. He was appointed as CEO and Representative Director of Renault Samsung in September, 2011.

Dongfeng Renault, joint venture Company of Dongfeng Group and Renault Group, was established in December, 2013. The factory, located in Wuhan, Hubei, officially produces SUV Kadjar at the early of 2016. The capacity reaches 1500,000 units per year. Till the end of 2015, Dongfeng Renault has more than 2,000 employees.
