A Big Move in Alternative Energy Area: Chery will establish a joint-venture company with Yaskawa
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 18th)– On April 15th, Chery signed a cooperative agreement with Yaskawa in Wuhu, Anhui. A joint venture company equipped with Yaskawa- Chery alternative energy engine and driving system will be established, targeting itself at a first-class engine system production company in China.
Yaskawa was established in Japan in 1915 as the first servo motor production company. The products are stable and rapid, making it as the best-seller servo brand in the world. Yaskawa was famous for its technologies. President Ogasawara said that, Yaskawa will only make a first-class product. The cooperative project with Chery is the first important project after his taking office, and he will do his best to accomplish it.
Tin Tongyue, President and CEO of Chery said that, Chery pays great attention on domestic, foreign and alternative energy market. Chery plans to sell 650,000 units in 2016 and more than 1m units in 2017. Apart from Chery, its joint-venture brands such as Qoros and JLR will also take efforts.
Although the average performance, Chery believes alternative energy market will be a trend and embrace a rapid growth in future years. Chery sold alternative energy vehicles up to 16,000 units in 2015, and sets the target at 35,000 units with a growth of 120%.
Yin said Chery will launch a compact BEV and a small BEV in the future, and the development model will be fixed in small BEV, medium-and-large PHEV. 48V PHEV system will be a standard configuration and will perform well in reducing energy-consumption.
