Subaru Reports Record Impreza November Sales
CHERRY HILL, NJ - December 4, 2007: Subaru of America, Inc. today reported November sales of 14,868 units. Sales of the all-new 2008 Subaru Impreza posted a November record up 9 percent over the same period last year, while the redesigned Subaru Tribeca also posted a double digit gain.
"We are pleased to see that the new 2008 Subaru models continue to be well received by the market," said Tim Colbeck, vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. "We expect to see this momentum carry on through the end of the year."
Subaru Tribeca sales were up 18 percent with 1,417 units in November. Sales of the Subaru Legacy line totaled 6,672 units, up two percent, with the Subaru Outback accounting for 4,872 units of that model line total. Subaru Forester recorded a November total of 3,046 units, while the Subaru Impreza was up 9 percent with a November record of 3,731 units for the month.
In November, the 2008 Subaru Impreza was the only small car to earn the highest rating in the most recent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests that now require side head protection and electronic stability control. The 2008 Subaru Impreza received "GOOD" ratings in the frontal, side and rear-impact crash tests for both the driver and passenger seating positions. Based on this performance and standard side curtains for side impact head protection, the 2008 Impreza 2.5i with VDC was the first small car to receive the coveted IIHS "Top Safety Pick" award.
