FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Strong sales at entry-level brand Chevrolet helped General Motors Europe sell just over 2 million vehicles in the first 11 months of the year, beating its full-year 2006 level, it said on Monday.

Sales rose by more than 157,000 units from the year-earlier period, increasing GM Europe's market share to an eight-year high of 9.5 percent from 9.2 percent a year ago, GM said in a statement.

Chevrolet sales rose 32.4 percent to 411,582 units for a record market share of 1.9 percent. The Opel/Vauxhall brand generated 4.1 percent growth to 1.5 million units, it said.

It gave no sales figures for November alone.
